What's the difference between a Convertible laptop and a Tablet PC?
Is it just like asking what's the difference between a laptop and a notebook?
Most Tablet PCs look like digital clipboards and usually run a modified version of Microsoft Windows designed especially for tablet PCs. Tablet PCs use either a stylus on the screen or your finger, and some tablet PCs don't actually even have a true keyboard, they use a digitally produced one generated by the operating system.
The convertible PC offers you the best of both worlds, it works just like a normal laptop, comes with a normal keyboard and pointing device, but it also offers a stylus so you can write directly on the screen and the software can be taught to recognize your handwriting just like a tablet PC. The convertible model offers a swivelling display that will allow the LCD to be turned and laid back over the keyboard so that it appears almost like a true tablet PC. The convertible PC is nice for business meetings where you are displaying charts and such, you can turn the screen to face the others while leaving the keyboard exposed so you can type and change screens more easily.
