My all-in-one printer (printer/scanner/copier) won't allow me to start a scan through the computer.?
I have an HP Photosmart Plus all-in-one printer and when I select for it to scan through my computer, it says to start the scan from the computer program. The only problem is I can't get Windows Fax and Scan to recognize the scanner in the all-in-one. Please help so I can scan my art 
It sounds as though either you haven't installed the scanning software to your computer, dear lady, or you're looking in the wrong place.
Instead of using Windows Fax and Scan, look for the HP software that should be installed.
Failing that, you can use Windows Paint. Click on File > From Camera or Scanner. (There are better programmes to do this than Paint, such as Google Picasa, which is a free programme to both download and use.)
