What is wrong with my computer when it won't read any kind of disk and usb cords only work sometimes?
When you insert a disk nothing comes up, and when I insert my usb cord to my motorola v3 razr it won't charge but found new hardware pops up but it won't let me install anything from a disk or usb.
Hello! When did it start behaving this way? Have you added any h/w that you can try and remove? Can you do any swap with peripherals?
Some indications can be in:
Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager [look for yellow exclamation points or red crosses].
Event Viewer can list errors or problems too. Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Event Viewer.
Restore the system to a previous date when all was working:
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore.
One of these should help you in finding what's wrong.
