network card question.?
I have A vIA Rhine 2 fast ehernet adapter connected to a hub. It is a 10/100 mb card. everytime I try to switch it to 100 full duplex it says my network cable is unplugged.. do I need a specific cable or something else?
it runs on 10 base full duplex.... i guess I have a router not a hub.
You can't use full duplex with a hub.
A hub is a shared media. It's sort of a party line. Two computers cannot transmit at the same time (or when they do a collision occurs). Full-duplex means two computers can simultaneously send and receive to each other. It requires the use of a switch.
