What's the difference between USB/Firewire Audio Interface and Sound Card?
Anyone knows what is the difference between those? When do you want to buy sound card such as ASUS Xonar, Creative X-fi and when do you want to buy USB audio interface such as Digidesign, Tascam etc? By playing music files, are they gonna make any difference?
A sound card can be installed inside your computer if you have a desktop. USB/Firewire would mean they are external devices that plug into either your USB port or Firewire port.
Creative X-fi is a better quality. USB/Firewire interface comes in handy when you have no room internally in your computer, it allows the option for external devices.
