Why do the new wide screen TV's at the stores show black bar pictures?
I looked at some wide screen flat TV's at the store but all of them were showing the black bars like you would have watching a wide screen movie on a standard TV. What good is a big wide screen TV if it still shows movies with black bars (top/bottom)? Or smaller than the TV screen itself?
those black bars can be caused by a number of things
1) the TV its self is not set to correctly display the content
2) the content may by formatted to "look" wide screen on a normal tv.. so those bars are added at the bottom..but its still only normal sef..so the TV adds bars to the side also...
the bottom line is the tv just wasn't displaying correctly...the good thing is you can always change and tweak the way the picture shows up
i wouldn't worry about what you saw there...just as long as the picture looked good... you might try getting one of the sales monkeys to figure out how to work those TVs and fix the problem...
but it wont be an issue if you read the manual when you get hoe
