Windows VISTA?
if i install windows VISTA in addition to my old Windows XP do i have to install another anti-virus to windows VISTA if the old one does not support windows VISTA....and does they work properly togather
It is possible to have both VISTA and XP installed on one computer, but they won't run at the same time -- you would have to reboot to switch between the two, and each operating system would take up its own space on the hard drive. The antivirus program, if not compatible with VISTA, will only run when XP is running. You'll be unprotected while VISTA is running unless you install a VISTA-compatible antivirus on your VISTA installation.
What most people are doing who get VISTA is upgrading from XP, meaning that you can't use XP anymore. If you do this, you will need to make sure your AV(anti-virus program) is compatible with VISTA or has an update that supports VISTA.
Don't spend any money on antivirus programs for personal use - AVG Free is a perfectly good free AV which supports VISTA.
